Mermaid is the largest tapestry kit in my collection.  
If you fancy a challenge and a long project, then this stunning design is for you.
The Mermaid is depicted in profile with swirls and whirls of the sea behind her. These are beautiful shades of blue and aqua, purples and greens. There's softer colours right at the top to suggest the light shining through the water. 
It is best to sew this design in pieces which are layered and sewn together when all the embroidery is completed. It sounds tricky,  but all you do is carefully place the pieces so that they overlap,  then stitch through both layers. (supplied in pieces suitable for the central panel and the border strips).
There's generous canvas provided for this purpose,  I've labelled all the pieces. Full instructions for each stage are included. 
Extra details are added after the tapestry is finished, I've marked suggestions for these on the chart with little circles.  You can choose whether to use these or place them where you prefer. For example, I've mixed the wool with silver lame as I've stitched, for that extra sparkly magic. You can over sew using the embroidery cotton, I've used 3 strands mostly for fine detail, 6 where the stitches need to be a bit bigger. in some places I've used simple crewel and embroidery stitches in the same wool colour to add texture.
The Mermaid holds a treasured shell and has a glorious tail in gorgeous rich salmon shades with either beads or French knots as surface embellishment. Her hair is also decorated with embroidery stitches and beads, she looks so beautiful. 
I have a wee stash of personal objects and charms to sew on my own hanging, you could add things like a button from a baby dress, beads from broken jewellery and so on.
The photos in the gallery show the work in progress, Mostly border strips. these are already enhanced with some stranded cotton used as the top part of the cross stitch

This is a big kit which contains loads of materials, it is only made to order. Please allow at least 5-10days for me to complete it. I'll keep in contact from the initial order. Some thread and wools may have to be ordered, you'll be contacted if the kit is going to be longer than expected.
