The Ceiling Knotwork (Red) Tapestry Kitd design was inspired by the ceiling mural depicting a Fertility goddess at Traquair House. There is a panel between the beams which show this intriguing design. This design is one of a pair, the other being the Ceiling Knotwork (Blue) design.
A tapestry suitable for turning into pictures, wall-plaques, cushion inserts or bags.
In 2005, I was approached by Traquair House to create a collection of tapestry kneelers. My brief was to look around the House and choose images and embroidery to inspire new designs.
The complete Traquair House Chapel Needlework Collection is on view in the chapel and was embroidered by community stitchers to celebrate the 900th anniversary of Traquair House.
The design is sewn dramatically in rich colours on a soft green background and would be enjoyed by the novice and experienced stitcher.
