Bird And Sweetpea Design, tapestry suitable for turning into pictures, wall-plaques, cushion inserts or bags.
In 2005, I was approached by Traquair House to create a collection of tapestry kneelers. My brief was to look around the House and choose images and embroidery to inspire new designs.
The Bird and Sweet Pea was inspired by the existing embroidery on display at Traquair House. .
The complete Traquair House Chapel Needlework Collection is on view in the chapel and was embroidered by community stitchers to celebrate the 900th anniversary of Traquair House. There's a photo of the chapel in the gallery.
The design is sewn dramatically in rich colours on a dark background and would be enjoyed by the novice and experienced stitcher.
The completed needlework has been created by using Victorian Cross Stitch on 10HPI Canvas in Tapisserie Wool
